About Mrs. Jeana Jones
Hello Everyone!
My name is Jeana Jones. Teaching has been a love of mine for as long as I can remember. I’m so excited I get to continue this passion here at the same elementary that I attended when I was young. I grew up in Kanab enjoying the small town feel and loved summer days playing at the creek, hiking, camping and swimming at the pool. Back-in-the-day I worked at the Junction Drive Inn (Big Al's) and even had a paper route (the kind where you rolled the newspapers, load them in a bicycle bag, and rode around the neighborhood delivering them).
After graduating from Kanab High, I attended Dixie College and earned my Associates Degree with an emphasis in Elementary Education. I then spent a semester at Utah State University furthering my studies in education. Because of my love for teaching, I took an opportunity to teach English at a school in Russia for a semester. What an incredible experience that was! I also had the opportunity to teach preschool for Head Start in Fredonia, Arizona and Northern Utah for about 5 years.
Before finishing my Bachelor’s Degree in Education, I got married and had two beautiful, amazing daughters, Mikayla and Mikkel. My husband and daughters were a huge support as I finished my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education through Western Governors University. During the summer of 2019, we were super excited to add another beautiful daughter to our family, which makes us a family of five now. Her name is Mikenna, and yes, I get their names confused all the time!
This is my tenth year teaching 2nd grade at Kanab Elementary School! I look forward to another awesome year in 2nd Grade!
